“The idea in recording ‘Cama Incendiada’ was to have the freshness from the first albums we ever released while also taking Maná’s sound to the next level.  We wanted a diverse album in terms of genres but that’s powerful and with the utmost quality.  More than wanting to keep Maná’s traditional sound, we wanted to explore new techniques and sounds, without resignation to the style that characterizes us…

The collaboration with producer George Noriega was fundamental for the album.  We began a creative dynamic that took us from one objective to another, always seeking that unique expression.  The result was surprising and George’s sensibility and ear for the music contribute so much to ‘Cama Incendiada’.”Maná

“Mi Verdad is a deeply poetic love song where personal truths are juxtaposed with eternal ones. And it doesn’t matter whether or not you speak Spanish – it’s all there in the grain of the singing. While the song is an enormous hit on the Latin charts (topping several simultaneously upon release), it [also] belongs on Anglo charts in contemporary country, adult contemporary and adult alternative.

‘Mi Verdad” is one of the first truly great singles of 2015. 4.5 starsAll Music

On Recording “Mi Verdad” (My Truth) with Shakira

Recording with Shakira was an idea that we had for years and finally came to life for this album.  It’s a theme based on the experience of being a parent, the need to educate your children, to give them the tools and values they need so that they can survive a world full of lies and false prophets.  Shakira recorded while she was pregnant and interpreted this song with the most intimate conviction possible. The outcome was astounding and very emotional.  That is why we decided on this one as the first single of the album.

On Recording “Somos Mas Americanos”

The concern on social issues is a permanent part of Maná and not only evident in our songs, but also through our tours and in many other circumstances.  Being a public figure implies a social responsibility as well as coherence between what is said and done.  For us, Immigration is a transcendental theme.  Millions of our fellow Mexicans travel north to make a living but to also contribute to the economy and culture of the United States, but they’re treated like criminals and invaders.  To touch upon that reality, on this occasion we did the cover of the song “Somos Mas Americanos” (We are more American) by the legendary band Los Tigres Del Norte. America is not a country, it’s a continent.  The borders are man’s creation and many times arise from spoils.  We’re all American, from Alaska to Patagonia.  This song expresses, like few others, the immigrant’s feelings that he/she feels at home nowhere.  We’re more American…we’re more.

“Mana continues to demonstrate that they are one of the biggest forces in music by setting yet another record at STAPLES Center in June with most shows by any artist. Their connection with the fans runs deep and is real; you can feel the magic at their shows.”-Jay Marciano, Chief Operating Officer, AEG / Chairman, AEG Live

“It isn’t a crossover. More than maybe any other Latin act, Maná represents what the Top 40 charts could look like as the U.S.’s Spanish-speaking population continues to explode. Unlike Shakira, Ricky Martin, and Enrique Iglesias…Fher Olvera and crew have never felt the need to record an English album. And yet, they’ve been packing American arenas to capacity for decades —Now on the cusp of releasing their latest album, Cama Incendiada, set for April 21, Olvera, fellow founding member Juan Calleros, guitarist Sergio Vallín, and drummer Alex González have announced another soon-to-be-sold-out tour.” – Miami New Times

[Maná is] Redefining ‘Crossover’ in Latin Poptypical this concert was not. Entire families, grandparents included, filled the arena. ..Hardly a word of English was spoken or sung from the stage. And the band was the proud record holder of the most sold-out shows in Staples Center history… Maná, with its mix of love songs and more pointed political material about immigration and the environment, has been playing sold-out concerts across the United States for decades, selling millions of records in the process. ..Maná has a mass appeal nearly unrivaled in the Latin pop world. …From Maná’s perspective, crossing over may be an anachronism. It has simply redefined what crossover means.” New York Times, Arts Cover Story
