In Tandem With The Single Release of “STRAWBERRY FIELDS,” GRAMMY Winners LA SANTA CECILIA Will Perform And Unveil A Special Animated Video Supporting Migrant Agricultural Workers During Tomorrow’s (July 10th) LULAC Unity Luncheon In New York With First Lady Michelle Obama and Jennifer Lopez.

Winners of this year’s GRAMMY award for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album, LA SANTA CECILIA have long made a distinctive multicultural version of “Strawberry Fields” a staple of their acclaimed live set.  As a band comprised of immigrant dreamers and the second generation children of immigrants, that has become nationally recognized ambassadors of Los Angeles’ young generation of bilingual Latinos, the unique fusion style of “Strawberry Fields” has encapsulated the band’s dual influences of classic American Pop and Rock music with the equally essential regional Mexican musical elements of their heritage.  Of course, La Santa Cecilia also strongly identifies with John Lennon’s own immigration/deportation fight.
Now, La Santa Cecilia has decided to share their heartfelt studio recording of “Strawberry Fields” as the second single from their critically-acclaimed new album “Someday New”.  In conjunction with the song’s release as a single, La Santa Cecilia has crafted a bright in style, but serious in message animated video that traces back exactly how the strawberries we enjoy arrived on our tables – likely originating with the hard work of migrant farm workers in the strawberry fields.  Tomorrow, July 10th, the band will unveil the video with a simultaneous live performance of “Strawberry Fields” at the LULAC Unity Luncheon in New York – where they join First Lady Michelle Obama and Jennifer Lopez as event participants.  La Santa Cecilia’s powerful lead vocalist La Marisoul will also sing the National anthem to complete the opening of the luncheon that brings together more than 1,500 Latino leaders as part of the National convention of the League of United Latin American Citizens.
“this dynamic Latin rock band embodies Los Angeles’ vibrant diversity. As does La Santa Cecilia’s music, a freewheeling mix of cumbia, jazz, mariachi, soul, rock en español …and, on the group’s new album, “Someday New,” the most seductive cover of “Strawberry Fields Forever” you could imagine” – Boston Globe
While In New York This Week, LA SANTA CECILIA Will Also Perform Friday Night (July 11/9:00pm) At SOB’s,
Followed By A Special Latin Alternative Music Conference Performance On Saturday Afternoon (July 12/Doors Open at 2:00pm) At Central Park’s Famed Summerstage – Very Appropriately A Short Walk Over FromStrawberry Fields
