Jason Ryan at Metropolitan Fashion Week

By Ivette Corona

As many of you might agree with me, Fashion Week now-a-days has become a very versatile and creative environment, and I am proud to say the city of Los Angeles has elevated its quality of fashion week. This past Sunday, I had the pleasure to attend the 2nd annual Metropolitan Fashion week at Greystone Mansion. Filled with a showcase of various talented designers, one of whom I had a little chat with, Jason Ryan.

This talented menswear designer has a vision of creativity and a unique perspective; only those who are edgy and innovative would dare to wear his unique designs, a mixture of Avant-Garde and a touch of chic. “I get inspired by unique stuff, anything pretty much that is different, also music I love the underground music scene with genres such as minimal, tech house and disco” Jason.

For this season, the young designer was inspired by his past Spring 2015 collection. More specifically, the wool and hair horse coats presented on the show. “ As far as color, I decided to go with a neutral palette” the talented artist shared with us.

On a personal matter, the Jason Ryan Collection is a visual pleasure, its construction, elaborate but yet optically minimal, resembles of that from medieval times. I fell in love with the hues and contrasts, a rose pink with shimmery embellishments and gold accents making every piece within the collection a dream.
