Kat Dahlia: The New Latina Sensation

(New York, New York) – Rising Latin pop star KAT DAHLIA quickly made a name for herself in early 2013 when she burst onto the scene with her buzzworthy autobiographical single “Gangsta.” The video scored more than 7.1 million VEVO views and the song won enthusiastic praise from celebs such as Ed SheeranDJ Khaled and Timbaland, who told Dazed & Confused magazine, “I see Kat Dahlia as this generation’s Nina Simone. She’s that powerful.”
 
On September 30th, KAT DAHLIA will give fans an appetizer to savor while she puts the finishing touches on her hotly awaited forthcoming debut album, My Garden, with the release of a five-song EP called Seeds, available at digital retail and all DSPs. In addition to her scorching new party anthem “Clocks,” produced by Salaam RemiSeeds boasts another new favorite called “Rainbow,” produced by Illangelo (Drake, The Weeknd), in addition to previously released tracks “Gangsta,” “Mirror” and “Money Party” featuring Polly A. A galvanizing live performer who made her live television debut in April 2013 with an acoustic performance of “Gangsta” on BET’s 106 & ParkKAT DAHLIA delivered a similarly stripped down rendition of “Gangsta” when she took the stage at the O Music Awards’ first ever “Live Music Day” on June 20th. Last month, she not only played four sold-out shows in front of 60,000 people in Berlin with German reggae band Seeed, but also rocked the mic at the 2013 People En Español Festival in San Antonio, Texas, where she joined a lineup of Latin superstars that included Demi LovatoWisin y Yandel and3BallMTY.
Embraced and acclaimed by mainstream, urban and Latin press alike, KAT DAHLIAcurrently appears in fashion spreads in the September 2013 issues of InStyle and Latina, as well as on the fall 2013 cover of IGN: I Got Next magazine, and will soon appear on the cover of YRB Magazine.
