International star William Levy takes on the lead role in the sci-fi adventure film The Veil currently in production.  Set in a war-torn land where tribal factions live in fear of annihilation, the film tells the story of a deadly warrior (Levy) leading a destructive war campaign. When he is betrayed by his own and left for dead, he is healed by a mysterious princess and taken in by a hidden tribe that believes he was chosen to wage a final battle.  (Photo attached — an early look at his character)

Levy joins the cast opposite William Moseley, best known for his starring role as “Peter” in the Chronicles of Narnia series.  Serinda Swan (Tron: Legacy) co-stars in the film produced and directed by Brent Ryan Green from a script by Jeff Goldberg who will also produce.  The Veil marks a departure role for Levy. “I have dreamed of doing a role like this since I was a kid,” says the actor.  “The character of ‘Warrior’ is so layered, and it is giving me a chance to show my full acting range.  It’s an actor’s dream.”

“William Levy is one of the biggest stars in the Latin market,” says Green. “While he has an incredible following in Latin America and overseas, he has millions of extremely dedicated fans right here in the US who are anxious to see him in this kind of interesting and transformative role.”  “We were shooting in remote locations in Oklahoma,” adds Goldberg, “and entire families were camping out in their cars waiting to catch a glimpse of William. He has die-hard fans!”

The Veil joins the list of Levy-starrer films expected to be filmed and released next year including Tyler Perry’s Single Mom’s Club; along with Addicted directed by Billy Woodruff, based on the novel Zane’s Addiction, and the horror-western Rio Sangre directed by Chris Wyatt, both for Lionsgate.  Levy begins production early next year opposite Jada Pinkett-Smith in Salsa.  Amy Heckerling directs and Pinkett-Smith will star and produce the story of a woman whose life’s course is altered when she falls for a handsome dance instructor (Levy).

Levy attained international acclaim through his series work and catapulted to stardom with his roles in such top-rated shows as La tempestadTriunfo del Amor,Univision’s Sortilegio and the telenovela Triunfo del Amor.  Cuidado con el Angel, in which he starred, averaged 45 million viewers per evening.  He recurred on VH1′s Single Ladiesand became a favorite last year on Dancing With The Stars with partner Cheryl Burke.  Levy has graced the covers of magazines across the globe and is one of the most sought-after product spokespersons with world-wide campaigns including AT&T, PEPSI, LAYS and CREST among others.   He is repped by Gladys Gonzalez of John Carrabino Management.
