BaK’s music offers rich, radiant instrumentation, along with a unique entity of progressive rock, metal and Eastern scales, sodden with appropriate mysticism. They’ve released two EPs, and a third will be out this fall. Here’s a range of tracks from all three:https://soundcloud.com/bakofficial/sets/bak-compilation/s-woIM3
The duo’s music videos have won acclaim at film festivals across the United States. This year alone, the clips have garnered 16 nominations and eight wins. Most recently, at the Indie Gathering Film Festival in Cleveland, OH, where “Dasha Hara” won for “Music Video – Other Category,” and this week, BaK won an Award of Excellence for “Dasha Hara,” and merit awards for “Life and Perception” and “Too Soon” at the San Diego Best Shorts Film Festival.
About BaK
Bak is a musical entity comprising two people in the vein of composers (think Andrew Lloyd Webber meets Led Zeppelin / Queen / Black Sabbath). A grand and theatrical image is the way BaK’s music presents itself.
All music and lyrics are original works written, composed and arranged by Beau and Kit (Beau plays guitar / bass / baglama; and Kit plays drums / percussion and keys / piano). Composition takes place in Sydney, Australia. Recording involves a large and selected crew of session musicians including members of Symphony Orchestras (strings; brass; woodwind), Opera / Choir, local ethnic musicians (middle Eastern / Indian), professional session musicians, singers and more.
At present, Bak is a studio based band. The way we see ourselves live, however, is with lots of the above people on stage (30 – 100+), with full staging and lighting – “a Rock Spectacular.”
